Labels on a reel - no matter the volume
(starting from one reel!)

Masterpress, meeting the demands of the market, wishes to present a unique service complementing label web printing by really small volume sizes.
It is made possible by implementing digital printing technology based on the Hewlett Packard Indigo 4500 digital press – unquestionable No. 1 in the world in this segment of printing.

What are the benefits to you?
Plenty.

Most of all, considerable savings of time and money during any small-volume implementations.
The philosophy behind the digital printing is to press directly from a file, thus eliminating the process of printing plate preparation. Because of that we save money necessary to make the plates. Additionally we cut the time necessary for the pre-press of artworks.
Digital print is currently the best available solution for short run printing. Frequent changeovers of printed jobs make the planning highly flexible thus enabling quick and rapid reaction to the client’s needs.

Label ordering made simple.
It is possible to order just for the smallest production run. Stock keeping is then rendered unnecessary. We go beyond that – in case a whole series of labels needs to be ordered there are no restrains on ordering. Simply check the price against the total volume and give us quantities for each artwork – the price stays the same for each label from that series. And with each order you can freely change the number of required SKUs within the frame of the total volume.
Not only the number of SKUs but also their content. As we print directly from the file we are not restrained by printing plates so each and every change poses no problem. This really makes for great ease and flexibility of the ordering process.

Innovative method of label ordering.
Quite soon we will make possible label ordering by the means of Internet – we are working on a portal which will lead the client through the entire process without the need to move away from the computer. Seems impossible but is a reality in our opinion. We are turning label ordering logistics into pure pleasure.

Ultimate print reproducibility.
A common opinion of those who come across the digital printing technology is that it is a good solution for quick printing of brochures or cards. Lead times are most important here, not quality. It could be true for standard digital printing but for us it is paramount to deliver best possible quality. Quite often we stumble upon a dilemma: what do we do to achieve similarity of a digital label to its flexographic counterpart done later in longer runs? We have our ways of course, but we need to be a little skimpy and ‘save’ on the quality of the digital print in order not to… overdo with the quality! Interesting, isn’t it?
Additionally, digital print covers all shortcomings of traditional press printing, for example: colors are always in full register; most colors can be printed with the process CMYK with no need to introduce special Pantone colors. It gets cheaper and as much eye-catching as ever before.

Print enriching and finishing
After printing the labels can be enriched in a separate process according to your wish. It could be standard varnishing, but also cold or hot stamping. We will meet your expectations, or we will... surpass them.

No limitations as to substrates used
We keep referring to ‘labels’ all this time, but it needs to be said that a label today makes for a very broad term. It may be made not only of self-adhesive paper, but of any material that you would like to decorate your product with. So we may print any self-adhesive range of substrates (papers, thermal papers, films, metalized substrates), coated paper or cardboard up to 250 grams, shrink sleeve labels – made of very thin thermo-shrinking films of PVC or PET, or other materials. As you see the choice of substrate is not limited at all.

A few words about the HP Indigo 4500 digital press
If at this stage you still have some doubts about the usefulness of digital printing let us present some information about the press itself:

  • HP Indigo 4500 is a web digital press, with maximum length of 450mm per unit (this is how long a label can be),
  • It offers 7 printing stations – seems nothing special at first, but keep in mind that most jobs can be printed with CMYK, plus we have three more stations for the use of special indichrome or Pantone colors, additionally the press can cover the substrate with 14 layers of ink in one run so separate colors can be freely strengthened (particularly important when printing transparent films),
  • Before pressing the material is specially coated at Masterpress, thus any substrate available on the market can be used (up to 250 grams),
  • All jobs once printed are stored in the memory, which means that at any given time we can upload their settings an do a re-print with 100% reproducibility,
  • Only one type of inks is used – inks produced by Hewlett Packard. This is a further guarantee of ideal reproducibility and quality.
